Porter: "Hi mom. I'll ham it up for you all day"
Abbey: "Hey lady in the jammies.......put me back down there on the ground so I can play- enough already"

Holiday Time!
I got the kids washed and dressed and propped them up on the couch. Here they are.

Welcome to Abbey's Crib....yo
I caught Abbey playing in her crib. When she saw me she started smiling. I am so popular with these kids I tell ya......its amazing! lol

Hangin' out some more with
Grandpa Best and Mom
We're professional hanger-outers!

Hanging out with mom and dad
Sorry we are so dressed up in these pics. White T's are the new things around this household. They bleach easy after the kids barf on them. Nice!

Angels
Wonder what they're dreaming about? Do babies dream? Here's one man's answer.
A. "Yes, as far as we can tell," said Dr. Charles P. Pollak, director of the Center for Sleep Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell hospital in New York.
Most dreaming occurs during a type of sleep called REM sleep, for rapid eye movement, which Dr. Pollak explains is "an evolutionarily old type of sleep that occurs at all life stages, including infancy, and even before infancy, in fetal life."
There is no question that newborn infants have REM sleep, he said, and the rapid eye movements can be observed as they sleep. The two eyes move together, mostly side to side, but sometimes up and down.
It is a well-based inference that babies are dreaming in REM sleep, he said.
As for the content of any dreams, Dr. Pollak said: "That is like asking whether your pet dog or cat is dreaming, because they can't communicate, and you can't ask. We presume that infants dream infantile things, but we don't really know what it is that they dream."
"There is some evidence in adults that the direction of eye movement corresponds in a crude way to the content of the dream," Dr. Pollak continued.
"If they are dreaming about walking in a field," he said, "the movement is most likely horizontal. If they dream of looking up at a building or climbing stairs, vertical eye movement is more likely to predominate. We can't go further than that."

Where's Porter?
I found a leaf for Porter yesterday. He held it for about a nano of a second before it went straight to his mouth. Then we played Put-the-leaf-on-Porter's-head. He really liked it. Porter grabs at things so quickly now. What a milestone!

Keeping mom Company
Just hanging out in the kitchen with mom. We listened to Christmas music tonight while mom emptied the dishwasher and cooked. It was fun. We got to hear alot of the classics like Here Comes Santa Claus and Oh Holy Night. Oh and one of mom's favorites....Do They Know It's Christmas?

Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho
This was taken before dad headed off to slay the dragons once again.

Plum Tuckered
There really is nothing more adorable than seeing your child sleep so peacefully. Porter played with his aquarium bowl until he fell asleep. Bless his heart. Look at the thighs and cheeks on this child! This is when I want to wake them up and hold them so close.

Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater!
Is that how the saying goes? And where did that come from? Why would anyone throw a baby out with the bath water? lol Porter likes to grab onto the washcloth and help mom wash. He likes to sit up so he can have mom help him splash in the water. He also likes to grab onto the faucet. Wow, they are growing. Second round of flu shots yesterday and Porter weighs in at 17.10 and Abigail weighs in a little less at 14.5.

A little Dad and son time
Dad loves to read this book to me! He always chooses this one. Oh! the Places You'll Go by Dr. Seuss. Dad, I really like to touch the pages with my hands and look at all the colors. Thanks for reading to me.
You've got a friend
Just hanging out together. Just talkin' about the awesome weather we're having and how great our fingers taste.

Fall
After mom swept off the front porch, she brought me this pretty little fall leaf.

Happy Abigail!

Aren't I delicious?

Waiting on Dad
I love you Daddy! I miss you when you are out slaying the dragons all day. Come home soon so I can give you smiles and cuddles.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Porter sleeping.....IN CHURCH! Porter loves to look at the stained glass windows while we're there. He makes dad leave at least one time during every service. Have to keep dad on his toes and embarass him! He's usually flirting with the people behind us too! Oh Porter, you silly little man.

Scrub a dub dub
No potatoes behind these ears!
Abbey loves her bath if you can't tell.

More like Overstimulation Station!
I couldn't even get Porter to look at me! He went straight for the toys. Abbey takes her time and contemplates on what she will grab first.

Big Blueberry Eyes!
Abbey once again amazed with her hands. 1, 2 ,3, 4 ,5!

Hi friend! You have a chubby face and big eyes like me!
They are discovering one another. Porter sometimes babbles to Abigail. Their little arms hold them up long enough to get a glimpse of one another.

Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick Tick
Well I know I really made this blog for the kids but I think this fits into the blog since it has to do with family time. I wanted to mention that the above sound on Sunday evenings always meant the weekend was about to come to a close. I remember my parents watching 60 Minutes. That oh-so-ever familiar sound almost put some fear into me because, yes, I was sorta scared of Mondays. That meant school. Seperation from my parents. New beginnings. I must have been about 5 or 6 when Ed Bradley came onto the scene. Though I may not recall his debut I do remember the voice, the face, the stories. I want to say that I will truly miss him and his good looks, his earring and the way he would grab his chin when REALLY listening. Bye Ed. You'll be missed.

Bed Heads
I took the one of Porter when he was just waking up. I always approach their cribs with a great big smile. I usually always get one back. I was changing Abbey and decided the "Onsie on the head" was a good look for her. It still amazes me that we all started off this small.

A New Perspective
Boppy. Check. Blanket. Check. Baby. Check.
Porter and Abigail are in the process of learning to sit up.
Porter is a bit ahead of his sis, but she's catching up quickly. I just load them in the Boppy and prop up some blankets and it a new world! Check 'em out.

Out of Towners!
(Before the Texas buttwoopin') Mandy and Jason visited from Tulsa. Again, we took our out of town guests to Whole Foods before the game. Mandy enjoyed looking around the store. She even got to take a stroll through the "walk through" beer cooler. Too bad she's 3 months pregnant! Mom and dad got a treat while there. Mom had a Chocolate Cream Tart and dad got a Key Lime Tart. I think I could have eaten a dozen. Step away from the tarts!!! Again we made lots of friends. Here Mandy and I and the kids stand by the veggie department. They don't like people taking pics in the store so we had to snap this one really quick. Cheese! Above dad and Porter strike a pose. Heartbreakers!

Miss Giggle Monster
Abigail has been lifting her head quite a bit more. She just laughs when mommy comes over and smiles at her. Look at that big toothless grin!

Stylin'
Well, look how good we clean up! Porter even got to have some of dad's Aveda Control Paste for his crazy static hair! Mmmmmmmmmmmm we smell good. Now let's hit the town!
