Hopscotch and snow

Christmas Tree!

Porter had been asking for 'Yights' so we got the tree out

Way up there!

Here come the lights

Patience

Then we sat by our beautiful tree.
Merry Christmas!

Sandy's

After our Christmas pictures we stopped and had munch at Sandy's. Dad shared his fries and shake with the kids.

Company

Abigail woke up from her nap before brother did, so I invited her to come and watch cartoons in Mommy and Daddy's bed. Treat for the both of us.

It's What I Do

I'm not a Batman, I'm a Porter!

Cleaning the glass door

Did I mention there were silly faces?

Veteran's Day Parade

I thought I was taking my life in my own hands when we headed downtown to the parade. But we ended up parking on the west side of the Capitol and trucking in through the grounds and popped out onto where Congress ends at the State Capitol.

They were sweet as pie the whole time. We stayed for three hours.

Very humbling to say the least. Proud to be an American that's for sure.

Trying out the cookie dough

Porter and Abigail helped me cut out the dough. Porter had airplanes and Abigail had flowers. They really like to help in the kitchen now.

But the best part is eating them

We've had these hats ever since the kids were born. This is the first time they wore them without having a fit.

Lunch Date

I seriously have the best lunch dates

They ran back and forth to me no less than 10 times

Your kids still nap?

I get this question quite a bit. Especially from other mothers who WISH their children still napped. I believe in napping children until the bitter end. It helps with building their immune systems, assists in their growth and makes them happier children. It's rough to be home EVERY SINGLE DAY to nap your children, but you do it for them. The key to napping them is to let them know that they are going to lay down and take a nap and not let them talk you out of it. I've let them believe that EVERYONE takes naps. There are days that we skip because the weather is super nice or I just want to give the kids a break and let them play outside.

And I just learned yesterday they will nap (or lay quietly) in their classroom for 45 minutes when they start kindergarten next year.
