The kids are really starting to have an imagination. They love to pretend to feed dolls, act like doggies and kitty cats and dinosaurs. They love it when you pet them and tell them they are good. They have really been using their kitchen alot more and love to play withe tea set too. Abigail is very gentle with her doll and pats its head, gives it kisses and tucks it in. She's so gentle. Porter loves to help wrap the baby up in a blanket.

Here they are feeding the babies in the kitchen while eating snacks.

P.S. Mom and Dad have been getting lots of kisses at night. We seem to think it's some sort of stall tactic before going to bed. Or maybe they really do love us! Porter grabs us by the back of the neck and pulls us in. Abigail puckers up and closes her eyes, tilts her head and gives kisses just like in a Hollywood movie.

Downtown Austin

The kids were itching to get outside. I wanted to take them somewhere and let them run around and wear themselves out. We headed to Lady Bird Lake. Looked cloudy but on that day it was going to soar near 105 with the heat index. Ouch. Luckily we got a head start and napped in the hottest part of the day.

Porter checking out the scene

Abbey's first one in

She kept saying, "Have fun!"

Train time! All the kids stopped playing and ran over to watch the train pass.

Snack time. The kids loved hiding under their "towwies"

Then it was time to chase birds

And to run around and let mom guess where you are

See Abigail way up there on the hill? They had me up and down that hill

Round and round

Just hangin' out

The kids love popcorn. It has to be in Joe's cups. And with the play spoons.

Pistol Pete to the Rescue

Abigail came in the back door and was saying "Need Pete, need Pete". I thought she meant she wanted to take her Pete pillow outside. She's never wanted to do that. So after a minute I asked her to "show Mommy" what you want. She walked into the bedroom and pointed at the closet door. It dawned on me that she wanted a Pete Band-Aid for her knee. Sweet thing.

These kids keep me guessing what they need. They can talk but sometimes it's hard to understand what they really want/need. I always try to figure out what they are saying. I don;t want to frustrate them, so we just try and and figure it out.

Mowing night is a big deal 'round these parts

The kids love to watch Daddy mow. They whine a little as they want to be outside when he's mowing, but tuff. They stand and bang on the window to get dad's attention.

Inspecting dad's work

Mom, can I hit the glass one more time?

Sissy pushing her luck

Daddy!

Then we moved the party outside. We are such party animals.

Cars down the slide

Hitting the tree with the bat. The boy has an arm. Good, he can make mom some money some day.

Eyeballin' my beer. Boy, don't be eyeballin' mom's beer.

I've always loved action shots of kids. So free and no worries. Unless it's what shoes Abigail is going to pick next.

'wing me!

Flashback Friday

It's been awhile since I've done flashbacks. Here the kids, errr babies, are at Whole Foods Downtown. They loved dipping their feet in the water and watching the birds. Look at bald little Abigail. And the chubbiness on them. Oh Dear Lord. Rubber band wrists are the best.

Is it just me that's drooling?

Big Kids

In the past I spent alot of time and money on sippy cups that leaked. I wanted the ones that don't leak. I mean DON'T LEAK.....at all. The Gerber Sippy cups that change colors have been the cups I love. They have a place where kids can grip the cup and it be secure in their small hands. I love 'em. I have recently begun to let the kids drink out of regular cups. They still don't quite know the meaning of "keep it in the kitchen". They do and they don't. So to save whatever we have, I have continued using the sippy cups. Sometimes I think we should ditch the sippies altogether, but they like having something to drink in the car and this keeps the mess to a minimum. What are your thoughts on sippy cups and do you think there is a cut off age?

Porter with the Tupperware cups Grammie Sondra got him. Green.

Abigail and her sippy cup. I found her outside, alone. I think she was taking a few moments to herself to enjoy her drink. Alone. We all need alone time Abbey.
