DIY Painted Furniture

I'm participating in A Soft Place to Land's DIY Day Party.

I painted my bedroom furniture.
1. KILZ'd with water based KILZ
2. Painted with BEHR (with sprayer) Snowy Alpine (Love it!)
3. Sanded with 400 grit in between the 2 coats of paint
4. Lightly shabby's in places

It's brought life to my bedroom. I still have the 9 drawer dresser and high boy to go. Husband loves it and said it made the room "Cheery"

Swimming with Grammie. The kids like the floatie.

It's amazing what the kids can do now. They are getting really good with the mouse. They get to practice at the library where they have a child sized mouse. Abigail really concentrates on holding it right and making the cursor go over certain items. Porter is doing really well too. He also is learning how to maneuver the mouse.

Porter is mom's helper at the library when it comes time to check out the books. He holds the scanner gun and scans the books/DVDs.

Oh and just last night they handed dad a book and said "Read book." We are now at the stage where they actually let us read to them as apposed to them ripping the book out of our hands.

Round Rock library

We have been meeting our friends at the Library for story time in Round Rock. While I like our library here in the neighborhood, this one is a little larger and it's fun to meet our friends there. Abigail and Porter actually sit down too!




I put Abigail in doggie ears for the first time. She loved them and was swishing her head back and forth. When she got it the car she saw herself in the mirror and yelled "Shrek!" and pulled them out. Oh it was funny.





Before story time. The kids were getting to know the librarian.



This is my friend Christel. She has Ruby and Emmy. They were our NICU family.

We mix it up sometimes and play on the driveway. The kids like it and it gives us a chance to watch cars and wave to neighbors. The kids like to draw on the driveway. I made these letters here for them and they jump to each letter.
