Train ride to the east side. We brought our scooters for some extra fun.

A little photo shoot at Rio Rita

We had chocolate chip cookies and fresh lemonade

It was hot, but we had fun. The kids took a loooong nap that day. This is our last week to be together. They're off to Kindergarten!

Winding Down Summer

The kids and I didn't let the grass grow under our feet before school started. Even though it was very hot, we kept exploring Austin. I took the kids with me to get my windows tinted and we checked out a little ways down the street called Red's Porch. It has a huge deck that overlooks out west. So we sat on the second story and listened to music and had lunch. As you can see, the kids had fun rearranging the rocks in the adjacent sitting area. And you can see Abigail dressed up for the occasion.

Symphony in the park

This was the first time we've been to Symphony in the park. It was a lot of fun. We met up with Emme and Ruby and had a great time. This night the symphony played music from MJ, Elton John and The Beatles. It's totally geared towards families and is really low key. The kids get to dance up on the lighted stage. Great view of the sun setting on downtown.

Haircut day

We used to cut Porter's hair with the Wahl clippers, but he cried last time and asked where his hair went. So I decided we'd do big boy haircuts from now on. They do great. Abigail just needed a trim. I usually trim the ends myself.

They have a Pacman video game while you wait

Ready for Kindergarten!

Ski Shores

My friend Lisa invited us to Ski Shores, on Lake Travis, for lunch. She has 4 year old girl/girl twins. They kids and I hopped in the car and headed west out in the hill country. The hills out there are unbelievable. We made it and had a great time. So relaxing to hear the waves roll in from the boats. The kids threw rocks and fed the fish. We watched lots of boats go by too.

Deep Eddy Pool

This was our second trip this summer to Deep Eddy. It was above 100 degrees, so it was very refreshing. We met up with Faith!

Afterwards, we headed over to Magnolia Cafe for some lunch and raspberry iced tea

Spicoli joined us for lunch. No shirt, no shoes, no dice!

Austin Art Car

We were headed to church on Sunday morning and I saw this car on the highway. The kids missed it since it was going the other way. On my nightly walk I discovered that it lived in our neighborhood. So I took the kids to see it after dinner. They were pretty excited to see it. Of course the loved all the trinkets on the car, half of which they already have. But Barbie and the army men were the hit.

Best Friends

This picture totally captures the relationship between Abigail and her dad. It's truly a special bond.

Friends

Abigail and Porter along with Emme and Ruby were born about 2 weeks apart and stayed in the same NICU. Their mother and I met briefly, but were reunited again through Austin Mother's of Multiples. We have spent a lot of time together going on play dates, swimming and basically hanging out.
