The kids get to sleep in the tent on the weekends. Here you can see they are completely passed out. This is because they no longer nap. Not even on the weekends. Not.Ever. It is so freeing. No more, "Get back in bed."

You see, I was at home for 5 YEARS STRAIGHT at 2pm to nap these kids. They needed it and deserved it. I think healthy sleep habits make for healthy kids.

The kids, mostly Porter still asks me almost everyday, "Mom, is it too late?" Meaning, "Mom, do we have to take a nap?"

We have a Texas cheerleader in the house now. Her name is Abigail and she only has one pom. Mommy will have to go back and get the other one soon. They were $12 each!

The kids did wonderful on the first day of school. They get to use the smartboard to check in. They put their water bottles up, their folders in the box and their lunch bags in their place. And there are only 16 kids in their class. A far cry from 26, possibly 28 kids in the school near our home. I pray we are able to give the kids private school all the way till 12th grade.

I have to admit I thought of them all day. It seems like such a long day without them.

They both hopped in the car and didn't stop telling me about their day until they went to bed that night. They let us know who got in trouble and who was nice. It's gonna be such a fun year. I get to be homeroom mom along with another mother. This is what I've always wanted. To have a presence in my kids' school and support them in everything they do.

We have never been on vacation other than Tulsa and school was about to start, so we decided to do a mini trip to Dallas.
