Abigail and Porter at The Tea Room in Burnet, Texas

Of course, none of the patrons came over to the table to tell us how cute the kids were. Women gasp at the site of these babies.
<<<<<<< woman gasping at the squids.

I guess they really are cute, huh?
Let the gasping begin

I'll have the ham on rye. Hold the mayo.

Wait, I'll have the napkin instead while Porter has his spoon.

Porter playing with his napkin. Son, it goes in your lap.

Abigail pretty much steals the show in this post

Abigail with her pants on her head. Party on Abigail!

Now mom, you don't wear your pants on your head

I am one happy baby! Mom stuffed me in these Christman pants. I'm expecting a flood!

Ok, I'm sick of Oprah. Let's see whats on the news! (Yes, Porter can punch the buttons on the tv)

Porter and Grandpa Best

I love my pillow. Especially the zipper.

Big smile

Check out my choppers

I caught the kids wrestling with themselves and the pillows

I've taught the kids to watch the birdies. They love this.

Which ones are the white tail doves and which are the bluejays?

Waiting on the birdies

Let me give you a big slobber kiss sis.

Just Horsin' Around
I tell ya what. Miss Abbey is blossoming. She's a social butterfly. Waving, clapping and saying bye-bye. She's still our little petite princess though. I mentioned that their 1 year apppointment was last week. Well, it's this week. So we'll see how big the kiddos are. I think we're doing a pretty good job. Last time, Dr. Alfaro said, "You're doing what I need you do be doing. The babies look great." I think that's cool that she gave us a compliment. Parents need to hear words of encouragement. I bet they take Porter off formula. Abigail, they might keep her on it. I dunno. We'll see. Does this mean that my babies are growing up? Is this the start of them not needing me? There has to be some point where I become less and less needed. Not in the sense that they don't NEED me, but you know. They are starting to venture out like little ducklings. But always staying near momma duck. Porter is a climbing machine. He can't get high enough. Crawl on daddy to get to the remote. Crawl on momma to get to the seat of the couch. Carey had to raise the blind cords. Mr. Porter can reach them from the couch. uh oh. Porter can also reeeeeeach and touch the front door knob. He thinks he's going somewhere I guess.

I see you brother

Here I am

Weird face.

Grandma helping me eat corn on the cob. Thanks Grandma, this is delicious.

Ok, I'll take over from here. Thank you.

Fun with Pepper
Pepper is the only dog who will tolerate the kids. She lets the kids touch her paws and she gives them kisses in return. How they can stand her breath is beyond me. She likes to sit beside them when they play. She is great with the kids.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Confession Time

Ok, ok, ok. Someone better fess up here. Did someone give Porter Miracle Gro or what? This kid's sproutin' like a weed! He now has a big upper tooth coming in. # 8 to be exact. I can see it when I lean him back and tickle him. It's puffy and red and you can barrrrrrely see the tip of the tooth. He'll be eating momma's meatloaf before we know it. Not that you need teeth to eat my meatloaf! Note: Isn't it tempting to want to reach inside the computer and love on this baby?

Flashback Friday - Tiny Babies
Well, these 2 photos will give you some perspective as to how small the kids were. At least Abigail. This is about 2 weeks after they were home. So after 3.5 weeks in NICU plus the 2 weeks, they were still so small. I remember being scared for Abigail the first night she came home. I wondered how she would do without the machine she was on. Although the machine wasn't helping her breathe, it was detecting apnea. She had been free of any apnea episodes for 7 days, so the docs said she could go home. I think I checked on her about 5 times that night.

Tuesday
Well, I think we've watched Cars for about the tenth time now. We love it more each time. Thanks Uncle Matt for getting that for us.
