Fun in Lago Vista
I've posted before about my friend Nancy and her family moving out to Lago. Their house is so wonderful. we all met up at Hill Country Days last Saturday. We had a very fun afternoon.

It was not crowded at the beginning so it made it quite nice for the kids. They got to run around and go crazy like a bunch of country kids.

Abigail visited the butterfly garden. She loved it but hated it when a caterpillar climbed on her foot.



Bubby took a much needed nap but woke up later for lots of running around.



And we saw this. I think it's safe to say that this is a Kentucky Waterfall.



Then we headed to Scott and Nancy's and the kids rode on the horsie, played with trains and then went outside and got super dirty.



We made a stop at the mall on the way home. We were almost out of the woods and Porter spied this ride. $1. WORST dollar I've ever spent. (But look at how happy it made him) The kids went bonkers when it was over. I curse these things. There was a little couple working at one of the kiosks and they got a pretty good chuckle out the meltdown show.

Thomas, and our first
real boo-boo
The kids like Thomas the train. Naturally. Earlier in the day we had been playing with our friends' Thomas set and we had to leave. Abigail clung to Thomas. I had to take him away from her and she cried "Traaaaa-in" for about 2 hours. So when dad got home from work, we ventured out to get Thomas and some Thundercloud Sub. We chose the Thomas and the combustion engine set, breaking momma's account. I can tell this is gonna get worse.

Sorry for all the delay in postings. Just been alot going on. But I finally had the time to hook up the camera to Carey's PC. So here we are.

A few weekends ago, I decided to go out on a limb and make homemade whole wheat pizza. Nie Nie inspired me to make this. It turned out pretty good. I think I just needed to leave it in the oven for an extra 5 minutes. the dough would have been more crisp.

Sunday was FREE Admission to all of Austin's museums. So we took advantage of it and headed to the LBJ Museum. It was really fun.



Listening to commentary on the moon landing. At first they didn't like the headphones, then they couldn't get enough of them.



After the museum we headed to Central Market to let the kids play.

We had dinner at Grandma and Grandpa's house on Sunday. I got some pics of Porter with the ball. Abigail was playing too. I just have to load those a little later. Carey is almost done cleaning my PC. I'll be back to regular blogging here in a few days.

Fall is around the corner. While this has been a really great, fun summer for the kids, I can honestly say I won't miss the 90+ degree weather.

Grandma and Grandpa Best are back from Hawaii. They brought the kids these shirts. Thanks!

We're Baaaaaaaaaaack
Sorry for the delay in postings. Just been a hectic week around here. But we are back and ready to go. IKE came through Galveston last night. I turned on the tv in the middle of the night. Eerie to watch. Now cleanup resumes from Galveston northward.

The kids love socks. They love to run and fall down and make you laugh. They also like to wear the socks on their arms. Porter slept with his socks on his arms all night. Crazy boy.






We are just on the edge of a huge milestone. The "I do it" milestone. The kids love to help dad empty the dishwasher. Carey can't dry the dishes fast enough. Always looking for the opportunity to help out. Wonder if they'll be so eager in their teen years?



and the kids love to run around eating bananas on their own. No more mommy helping. They can peel it with minimal assistance too.








Summer is such a great opportunity to get lots of fresh fruit. Sometimes for dinner, it's crackers and fresh fruit. They love it.
